New music nerds Weston Olencki, Matt Barbier, and Max Murray shed their scores and electronically suit up for a trio of dorky slabs of noise and misaligned embouchures to produce a night of things their former teachers would find quite contrarian amidst the Akademie. Their set will feature noisy improvisations by Weston Olencki (trombones, transducers, no-input mixer), Matt Barbier (trombones, assorted objects), and local hero Max Murray (tuba).

AmpL is a noise trio consisting of James Bean (no-input mixer / electronics), Luke Martin (no-input mixer / electronics), and John Pax (instruments). AmpL's playing consists of feedback loops, seeking out imperfections in their set-ups, instruments, and decision-making, and exploring the interaction between acoustic and electronic mediums; ultimately, however, AmpL is about three people being together, in a space, and seeing whether or not our paths happen to cross in a fog of noise.
