Nathan Andary, CMA, MFA, RSME, Nathan is a Laban/Bartenieff certified movement analyst, experimental artist, and a two-time recipient of the prestigious Merit Award for Choreography from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA). Nathan's dance research: The Threshold between Intention and Initiation was presented at the "International Place / Space Maker" Conference at Earthdance in Massachusetts and the International Somatics Conference hosted at Skidmore College. He continues to investigate the Pedagogic layers of dance across curriculum through recent workshops entitled: "Kinesthetic Empathy as a tool for Understanding", "Phrasing and its effects on teaching and performance", "How to increase/inform the Somatic focus and work for young dancers", "Weight Sensing and the Performative Self". Additionally, Nathan's choreography performed internationally in Lebanon, Sarajevo and Canada as well as nationally in notable theaters like: New York City's Center for Performance Research, Movement Research, and Merce Cunningham Studio Theater; Washington DC's Dance Place, Wooly Mammoth Studio Theater, and The Kennedy Center; Chicago’s Links Hall, New England's Institute for Contemporary Art, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Rhode Island School of Design, Boston University, Mobius, Brown University, and Rhode Island College. His work received funding from Toyota, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Rhode Island Foundation, among others. Nathan’s master classes and teaching credits include: Ohio Dance Festival, The Yard, Southern Vermont Dance Festival, International Body-Mind-Centering and Somatics Conference, Place/Space Maker Intensive, KY’s Governor’s School for the Arts, the Univ. of Maryland, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Rhode Island School of Design and is currently on the dance faculty at Ohio University where he teaches: Composition, Laban Movement Analysis, Modern and Ballet techniques, Dance Pedagogy, and is the Professor and Artistic Director for the Ohio University Senior Capstone and Senior Tour.
Matthew Azevedo is a musician, acoustician and engineer based in Providence, RI. His most recent solo LP as Retribution Body (Aokigahara) was released on Type Recordings in 2015 and his collaborations with Glenn Jones (Waterworks) and The Void Ensemble (Void I/Gathering) were released in 2017.
Jimena Bermejo is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on movement and performance. She sees her body as a tool to create a dynamic and intimate relationship with an audience. She elicits a combination of physical and emotional engagement in pieces woven from memories, music, social issues, and human relationships. Recently, Jimena has shown her work at Le Lieu in Quebec, 808 Gallery in Boston, Mobius Gallery, Green Street Studios and The Dance Complex in Cambridge. She has also shown at the ArtBeat and SomDance Festivals in Somerville. Jimena is currently a member of Mobius Artists Group and Caitlin Corbett Dance She holds an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design's Studio for Interrelated Media and a BFA in Dance from The Boston Conservatory and currently, she is faculty at Berklee College of Music, The College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, Boston Arts Academy and The Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Composer/performer Anthony Green is concerned with hyper-focused textures created through dynamic processes, pyramidal relationships, thematic and historic abstractification, and straddling the boundary of cerebral and visceral approaches to the creative process. His 100+ works range from solo and chamber pieces of varying instrumentation to digital compositions and large ensemble/large-scale works, including an ever-expanding opera and a multimedia performance based on the Book of Job. His works have been performed, read, and workshopped in over twenty countries by such ensembles as Oerknal!, BLY, Ensemble Transmission, ALEAIII, Transient Canvas, Sound Energy, Ensemble Mise-en, Ossia New Music Ensemble, Grupo Instrumental Siglo XX, the Fidelio Trio, dissonArt, and Alarm Will Sound to name a few. Additionally, his electronic and video works have been diffused in concerts and festivals across the United States of America, as well as in Mexico, Spain, Italy, Venezuela, Australia, Malaysia, and the Netherlands. As a performer (piano/koto/improvisational voice) and conductor, he has appeared at venues across the US, the Netherlands, South Korea, France, and Cyprus. His work has been awarded grants by New Music USA, Meet the Composer, and the Argosy Foundation, and he has been a resident artist at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, VCCA, Space/Time, and the Visby International Centre for Composers. Currently he is the composer-in-residence and associate artistic director of Boston-based Castle of our Skins. His primary teachers include Theodore Antoniou, Lee Hyla, and Robert Cogan, and he has participated in masterclasses with Walter Zimmermann, Michael Finnissy, Jonathan Harvey, dissonArt, and the JACK quartet.

Jen Hix, (a.k.a. Jennifer Hicks) director of Chimera Performance Lab which is founded on a unique interface between somatic techniques such as; Butoh, Shintaido, Body Mind Centering ® principles, Viewpoints, Modern Dance and contemplative practices. Ms. Hicks has been performing and teaching for over 40 years. She took her first Butoh workshop in Boston with members of Dairakudakan in the late 1980's and began her regular Butoh training in 1994, at the San Francisco Butoh Festival with Master Butoh teachers such as Koichi Tamano, Akira Kasai, Diego Pinion, Saga Kobayashi, Maureen Fleming, etc. She has been dancing with Katsura Kan's international Company since 2000 and has acted as Kan’s assistant in many workshops and performances. She received her Masters of Fine Arts from Naropa University in Contemporary Performance and continued on to teach and design shows as a Guest Artist, Ms Hix has studied Viewpoints with Wendell Beavers and members of SITI Company and later with Mary Overlie. She studied Body-Mind Centering® principles with Erika Berland and workshops with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Continuum with Emilie Conrad, Roy Hart Vocal training Jonathan Hart and Ethie Friend, and Acting/Physical Theater with Steve Wangh (among other teachers). Ms Hix received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Tufts University and Degree in Fine Arts from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Jen won the prestigious The Traveling Scholars Award from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and is an alumnus of Franklin Furnace in New York City. Ms. Hix is a certified Shintaido Martial Art Instructor, certified Trance Dance International Facilitator and a Yoga Instructor registered with the National Yoga Alliance. She has been a member of Mobius, Boston's performance collective since 1996. She is a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Academy of Personal Training and a Licensed Massage Therapist. She has worked regularly with organizations such as Mobius, Liars & Believers in Boston, Artisterium in Tbilisi Georgia, Boulder Butoh Festival, CAVE, The Dance Complex in Boston, Green Street Studio and Naropa University in Boulder CO. She now teaches Butoh in The Hudson Valley NY at various studios and at The Voice Theater Summer Teen Program at Byrdcliffe Artist Guild in Woodstock NY. She is the director of a new performance space under construction due to open 2018 called 11 Jane, in Saugerties NY.
Max Lord and Sara June have been making performances together since 2006. Upon their first meeting, the pair quickly formed a shared understanding of the natural compatibility of their respective backgrounds (electronic noise and butoh dance). Their first work, Fern Study, was performed on a lawn at a garden party three months after they met. As Lord and June, they have presented improvisational duets, site-sensitive durational performance works, and historically informed visual-sound installations, often in unique locations. Together, they curated ZEROPLAN a popular salon that presented spontaneous collaborations of electronic sound improvisors with avant-garde movement performers in their loft in Downtown Crossing from 2007 until 2011. In 2009, they were invited to join the Mobius Artists Group which brought them into closer contact with the experimental performance community in Boston. Most recently, Lord and June were commissioned by the Boston University Art Galleries to create a work, Peacock, for performance alongside the internationally acclaimed Hiroshima Panels by Japanese artists Iri and Toshi Maruki. Lord and June have presented work at Mobius, the Boston Center for the Arts, Boston University Art Galleries, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Bridgewater State University, Green Street Studios, the Dance Complex, Mascher Space Co-op (Philadelphia, PA), Galapagos (Brooklyn, NY), Center for Performance Research (Brooklyn, NY), Le Lieu Centre for Performance Art en Actuel (Quebec City, CA) the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots (Brooklyn, NY), and the REACHFestival at the Wistariahurst Museum (Holyoke, MA). As a duo, they have worked often with other collaborators, particularly Yuka Takahashi, Liz Roncka, Nathan Andary, Steve Norton, and Matthew Samolis.
Luis Mojica is an american pianist, performer, and composer who uses the piano and looping pedal to blend his wide vocal range with beat box pop melodies and baroque-style piano. After spending 4 years in the mountains, Luis has emerged with his debut studio album, titled Wholesome The album features internationally acclaimed cellist/performer Melora Creager (Rasputina) on cello, as well as the cult-famous Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls) on drums and percussion. In addition to his solo work, Luis is also the pianist and beat boxer for the legendary cello group Rasputina since 2014. He has been on 2 US Tours with the band and continues to collaborate and tour with them.
Liz Roncka is a performing artist working in the genres of movement improvisation and contemporary dance. She is an accomplished solo artist and teacher whose work has been presented across the United States and internationally in France, and Hungary since 1991. Liz has performed original work at a range of prominent venues including the Dance Theater Workshop, Center for Performance Research, Five Myles, and Spoke the Hub in New York City, Canaldanse, Kiosque Flottant, Chez Adeland Galerie G in Paris, the Ludwig Museum and MU Szinhaz in Budapest, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston University, the Boston Center for the Arts, and the New England Conservatory in Boston. She has taught internationally at Canaldanse in Paris and locally at Green Street Studios, Boston College, Bridgewater State College, the American College Dance Festival and currently at Boston University.
Matilda Sakamoto was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She began studying dance at Hamas Dance Center, moving to California Dance Theater and Marat Daukayev's School of Ballet, in her high school years. As well as receiving training from various programs including Gaga Summer Course, Springboard Danse Montreal, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, LINES Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet School. While at Juilliard Matilda has performed works by Kyle Abraham, Kate Weare, Brian Brooks, and Camille A. Brown. As well as repertory by Elliot Feld, José Limón and Merce Cunningham. Matilda has also appeared in Fall for Dance 2014 and Kate Weare's 10th anniversary at BAM Fisher. Besides dancing Matilda loves to choreograph and create visual art in the forms of drawing, painting, photography and film. She is excited to meld these worlds together, and expand into new ones. To create all encompassing works of art, that push her to become a deeper and truer artist and person. In life Matilda hopes to create, collaborate, choreograph, dance professionally, do good things and be free.
Sila Shaman is a New York City based composer and pianist. Her work spans a wide variety of genres including jazz, musical theater, film scores, concert and experimental music. Born in Turkey, she moved to USA to study jazz in 1993. In 2004, her debut album as a bandleader, A New Abode was selected as an Album of the Week pick by NPR's Jazz with Bob Parlocha had extensive airplay in the US and Europe. She followed this with several releases from Louie Records with Dave Storrs and SDS trio including First Encounters (2009), Dark Transparency (2010) and For Now (2011). Herstage and screen credits include scores for Catskill Chainsaw Redemption, a short film by Emmy winning writer J.R. Havlan of “The Daily Show with John Stewart”; documentary First American Art; documentary 9/11-Ten Years On for History Channel; A Character Story, short film by cartoonist Liana Finck presented by the Daily Forward; music for the play Terrotica, by Brad Krumholz, staged by NACL at the Ohio Theater in NYC and the musical Spin with book and lyrics by John Frohnmayer, starring David Ogden Stiers. Her latest projects include electro-jazz release ReWeave (2015), the score for Brindlebeast (2016), a new musical in voice, song and American Sign Language with book and lyrics by Anita Riggio and Songs of Imagination (2016), a collection of piano pieces for children.
Yuka Takahashi is a Japanese dancer, performer, and choreographer currently based in Boston after being based in NYC and Vienna, Austria. She actively engages in the field of dance, performance art and experimental performance. Her works and performances were presented across Europe, Japan and the United States.
Julieta Valero, Venezuelan dancer and choreographer began her studies in 1980 Danzahoy-Escuela, becoming a member of the company in 1989, participating in national and international tours to Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Spain, Israel, Canada, England, among others. In 1996 she moved to New York and two years later produced the show, "Andar el Comienzo" which marks the birth of Rastro Dance Company. Julieta has twice received the Astral Career Grant (1999-2002), it has also been an artitst in recidency at D'jerassi Artists Program, California 2003, then distinguished with Bessie Schoenberg Memorial Fellowship 2003. She also participated in the artistic residence Artward Bound in White Oak Plantation in Florida, as a member of The Field in 2007. Between 2000 and 2006 Julieta continued to collaborate with Danzahoy as part of the cast on tour of the piece "Exodo", including the BIENNALE DE LA DANSE 2002 TERRA LATINA, Lyon, France and their season at the Joyce Theater, NYC, 2006. With Rastro has created 10 choreographies and produce works of established and emerging choreographers. The company has performed in a variety of theaters and festivals in NYC and international including the Joyce SoHo, NYC; NuDance Festival in the frame of Riverside Festival, NYC; Institute of Contemporary Art, London, England; Araracuara Dance Festival, Brazil; Teatro Peon Contreras, with tumaka't danza contemporanea, Yucatan, Mexico; Breaking Lines Dance Festival, Abrons Arts Center, NYC; Dancenow 2000, 2003 and 2004 NYC; CPR - Center for the Performance Research NYC, among others. Recently Rastro has presented work at Dumbo Dance Festival for the third time in 2015. In October 2016, Julieta was invited to perform at the DanzaExtrema Festival Internacional in San Andrés de Tuxtla, Veracruz MX, where she premiered “Pain, nothing new” and was honored for her artistic trajectory by the festival’s director, Alonso Alarcon. On January 7th, 2017, the company performed at the Theater for the New City and on January 17th at Dixon Place.

Composer/multi-instrumentalist/multimedia artist Jane Wang has been a member of the Mobius Artists Group since 2009. She develops and curates/co-curates work in the disciplines of installation art, fluxus, musical instrument construction, performance art, video. In 2016, she was invited to have a solo indoor/outdoor exhibition at the Gordon-Nash Library in New Hampton, NH for which she created several permanently installed site-specific works on the grounds of the library. She has composed and performed scores for her long-time collaborator performance artist Hanne Tierney, playwright Renita Martin, conceptual artist Jason Hendrik Hansma, choreographers Danny Swain, Liz Roncka, Yuka Takahashi. Her compositions have been presented in Italy, England, Belgrade, New York City and throughout the United States. She has an ongoing artistic partnership with choreographer Nathan Andary; their collaborations have included works presented in Lebanon, Sarajevo, Washington, DC, Boston, Rhode Island, Ohio and New York City. She received a 2013 Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Music in a Play for Hanne Tierney's Strange Tales of Liaozhai wherein she performed on and built space plates - the invention of Tom Nunn.
David Louis Zuckerman is a composer and artist working in experimental opera, theater and film. He is a company member of New York City Players and an alumnus of the Skowhegan Residency and the Labyrinth Theater Ensemble. His multi-media opera projects and films have shown at Untitled Miami, David Lewis Gallery, JOAN Los Angeles, Disjecta, Anthology Film Archives, Thomas Duncan Gallery, Kunstverein Cologne. He studied composition at Berklee College of Music and holds a BFA from The School of Visual Arts and an MFA from Bard College. Zuckerman has contributed articles to Film Comment and Bomb magazines and is a 2015 Rema Hort Mann Grant Nominee. His work has been covered in Art in America, LA Weekly, Artforum, Cahiers du Cinema, Purple Magazine, Hyperallergic and The New York Times. Other awards include: Finalist LMCC Residency Program, Berklee College of Music National Talent Search Award/Scholarship.
Chris Brokaw is a musician and film composer based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Perhaps best known for his pioneering work with the bands Codeine and Come, he has released over two dozen solo recordings for vocal and instrumental musics and toured extensively through the US, UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, Russia and Africa. Chris has also worked as an accompanist to Thurston Moore, Evan Dando, Christina Rosenvinge, Rhys Chatham, Johnny Depp and GG Allin. He has scored six films, the most recent of which, "La Barracuda" by Julia Halperin and Jason Cortlund, premiered in March 2017 at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas.
Carolyn Lewenberg creates sculpture and sculptural installation works that aim to connect natural systems and the built environment, and build community through an inclusive process and creation of interactive works. Carolyn earned a Masters in Art Teaching from MassArt, and BS in Landscape Architecture from UMass Amherst. Her artwork has been shown at locations including Medicine Wheel Gallery, the Jewish Community Center, Harbor Arts, and the Charlestown Navy Yard and long term installations are currently at the Boston Children’s Museum and Franklin Park Zoo. She was an Artist in Residence in the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park where she used art as a point of departure to develop interpretive programs focused on history and ecology. As an arts administrator and organizer, she founded the Franklin Park Art Grove, a weekend event featuring site responsive performances and sculptural interventions in the woods of Franklin Park. From 2007 to 2011, she annually organized and co-curated the Bumpkin Island Art Encampment, which is where she and Nathan initially met. Visit www.carolynl.net to learn more about her work.
Robert Voisey (born 1969) is a composer and producer of electroacoustic and chamber music. He founded Vox Novus in 2000 to promote the music of contemporary composers and in 2001 created The American Composer Timeline, the first in-depth listing of American composers, spanning from 1690 to the present, to appear on the Internet. A producer of new music and multi-media concerts and events, Voisey is best known for producing the 60x60 project, which he started in 2003 in order to promote contemporary composers and their music. He also founded and directs the Composer's Voice Concert Series as well as the chamber music project Fifteen Minutes of Fame as well as vice president of programs for the Living Music Foundation.
