Welcome Concert: The Co-Incidence Festival @Union Square
Friday January 19, 2018 :: 7-9pm
This event features artists from town performing new pieces alongside a work by the Co-Incidence Resident Artist Joachim Eckl. It takes place from UNION SQUARE, Somerville to Washington Street Art Center. Bring warm clothes!!! Here's the flow of (overlapping) events, which take place at these exact times:
(Arrive at ~7 PM, at Union Square, Somerville)
715 - 815
"sound bridges", by Joachim Eckl (performed by Luke Martin & Aaron Foster Breilyn).
[Union Sq at the big intersection of Webster, Somerville, and Washington St., near India Palace].
730 - 830
new work, by Marilyn Arsem
[Along Washington Street, toward Washington Street Art Center. Past Juliet and nearer to Hawkins St.]
745 - 845
new work, by Sarah Pitan
[Further along Washington Street and toward the parking lot of Washington Street Art Center]
8 - 9
new work, by Jennie Gottschalk
[INSIDE Washington Street Art Center]
As you can gather, this is a bit of a wandering concert, forming a bridge between Union Square (where Joachim's piece will be occurring daily for the next 7 days) and Washington Street Art Center (where the group will work for the week). The pieces will overlap and flow into one another, and the environment, from 7 - 9 PM.

The second season of the `co-incidence festival` will take place from January 19—28, 2018, at Washington Street Art Center in Somerville, MA. As with last year, the overarching goal of the festival is to bring together experimental composer/performers/artists to focus on collaboration, critical discussion, workshopping, and performance. The entire festival is open to anyone who wants to join in with the artists, at whatever level they're comfortable: listening, discussing, performing with, etc.
This event is supported in part by the Somerville Arts Council.
