Pods
A species called Pods were made with chicken wire, and then covered with pieces of circled burlap coated in resin. Hanging jute is the source of movement for the Pods, in the wind or by a forceful creature. History: Pods were originally created for an outdoor tree installation called "Nature and Balance" at the Arsenal Center for the Arts. The species was then moved to Mobius for a show with the "Creatures."

Shower / single channel video installation
The everyday act of showering I believe most preform without a thought to how intimate the act of washing yourself can be, when made public (dressed or not) there's a de facto betrayal of that intimacy and the actions becomes farcical.

The Circus Project: stitching event 7
The Circus Project is an ongoing, communal project that will include many stages and ways of participating. This project explores our connection to the space and objects we grew up in and with, and our connections to one another. It is my hope to bring people and their stories together through the acts of remembering and making.
The first phase of The Circus Project centers on The Meeting House --a place where a community gathers to share and become informed. The role of The Meeting House will begin to take shape even as the tent structure of The Meeting House as a physical space is incomplete.
I am currently holding a series of stitching events where people are invited to stitch the ceiling of this structure and share their stories and memories with me. The ceiling is made up of a large cross-stitch based on traditional afghans. These stitching events are held in various types of communities: elderly centers, galleries, schools, community centers, etc. Each event includes cross-stitching, a cake made by one of the participants in the event, and the sharing of stories. Participants’ stories are audio-recorded in order that they may later be woven into the "sound fabric" of the Meeting House.
Once The Meeting House is installed, viewers will be invited to interact with what has been made, and further contribute to the piece, through several ongoing activities. Each day knitters will be invited to knit scarves, mittens, and hats from the knitting tree house, to be donated to the community when the show closes. Each week bakers will bake “the birthday cake they never had,” to share with the public. And throughout the installation there will be spaces in which visitors may make their own artworks.
For my part in The Meeting House, I will play the role of the matriarch of a vast, extended family, blurring the lines between artist and curator, community organizer and circus master. I intend to bring many facets of society together through the acts of making, remembering, and eating together.

Nomadic Canopies
The fabric structures exhibited here were fabricated by students in the Spring 2009 UdB workshop “Nomadic Canopies.” These playful installations are designed to be nimble and agile, easily assembled on site and affixed with simple fabric knots. Taking advantage of existing site conditions, the aim of the canopies is to provide maximum impact with a minimum footprint, an appealing play of sunlight and wind elements, providing a creative signature borne of our semester’s tensile studies.
The emphasis of this workshop was not the canopies as an end-product; the emphasis was collaboratively creating a body of research upon which to draw as we move forward.

Drawing (on the wall)
This is a public art installation that involves the public's participation. It will be a travelling project to different parts of
the world: there is no specified location type (modern urban center or remote village, indoors or outdoors) and no wall specifications (dimensions, surface quality). The project invites people of all age and cultural background to participate. Buckets with prepared water-based paint will be available for participants to select the color of choice and, with a sponge/brush, to throw or splatter the wall according to their own style and personality. This project, as a wall "drawing", is recording the simple actions, movements, whims or natural flow of an individual's and the collective's actions, creating
a diversity of color and form.
