Yuka Takahashi
She is a dancer, performer, and choreographer born and raised in Japan. After graduating from High school she moved to NYC to attend Joffrey Ballet School. While in NY she also attended Movement research, Dance New Amsterdam and Peridance to explore her interest in modern/ contemporary dance. Yuka has performed under the direction of Ori Flomin, Kriota Willberg, Rachel List among others. She received a pilates certification from Kelly Kane Core Intergration (NYC). In 2006 she moved to Vienna Austria. There Ms. Takahashi extended her study in contemporary dance and performing arts with Chrysa Parkinson and Martin Kilvady at a coaching project at Impulstanz Festival as well as Deborah Hay, Ibrahim Qurais, David Sambrano among others.  She received a 2 years (2009-2011) residency at the experimental multi disciplinary performance platform LABfactory (Vienna) under the direction of Thomas J.Jelinek and Kazuko Kurosaki. There Yuka has regularly presented dance, installations and performing arts. She also received a short residency at D.ID (Burgenland, Austria) curated by Liz King. Yuka has performed an improvisation installation performance at the Burgenland Tanz Tage (Burgenland dance festival). While she was in Vienna Yuka Takahashi was strongly engaged with artists of other disciplines. One of these works, with Urusula Endlicher, was performed at the art exhibition of SIGGRAPH ASIA2009 in Yokohama, Japan.  In May 2011, Yuka moved to Boston. In Boston she has performed improvisation at Mobius under the direction of Liz Roncka and in the Boston Center of Arts.
