Denis Romanovski  (Belarus/Sweden)

Born in 1970 in Minsk, lives and works in Stockholm.

Education: Belarus State University - 1992, Belarus State Academy of Arts - 2001, Kungl.Konsthögskolan - 2006.  

Denis Romanovski works as cross-disciplinary artist, and  art projects organizer, active in performance art and New Media art.  He began making performances and exhibition projects in 1996. He has participated in a numerous international festivals in Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Canada, USA, Vietnam, and Thailand.

From 1999-2008 Romanovski was the co-curator of the international performance art festival Navinki in Belarus, and the Navinki-Weld performance meetings 2008 in Stockholm.   He has also been an organizer and collaboration partner in a number of projects related to New Media art, including NetArt Meetings in Minsk - 2001,Tranzit_01.by -2001 Minsk, RAM7 Models of Collaboration- 2005 Minsk and others. He curated the international exhibition "Phantom Expression" at GFZK Leipzig in 2004. Romanovski’s most recent exhibition was Get Set 29/3 - 24/5 2009, Virserum Konstall, Sweden.

The Mobilize Performance Series was initiated in 2003 by Jamie McMurry as a collaboration between Mobius, Inc. and the Performance Area of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.  Previous events have included performances by artists from Los Angeles, Seattle and New York, Bolivia, Canada,  Germany, Israel, Italy and Japan, as well as members of Mobius Artists Group.
