Runar Magnusson – disturbing in more ways than one
http://runarmagnusson.wordpress.com/

I am a composer and a sound designer.

I finished in 2009 a masters degree in Electronic Music Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, where I amongst other things worked with surround sound and made a soundtrack for The Dreamachine.
“I work a lot with field recordings, sounds from nature and the environment around me. I use these recordings both in the original form and manipulated.
I create atmospheres inspired by nature, horror movies, noise and meditation.”

Howard Stelzer

Howard Stelzer, CEO of the Intransitive Recordings media empire, has been active as a composer and performer of electronic music since 1992. His visceral music exploits the unique sonic and physical qualities of cassette tapes and tape players… gritty amplified hiss, the squeal and hum of taxed motors, plastic clatter, and play speed altered by pressure from fingers applied to the tapes’ reels. While his work is informed by improvisation, most of his recordings are composed. Stelzer has lived in the greater Boston area since escaping from Florida in 1998.

“HS does to cassettes what Keith Emerson did to keyboards .. only with much better results. Listening to Howie manipulate the humble tape cassette and create such incredible sounds makes you realise what major league wasters there are out there with entire studios at their disposal.” – Idwal Fisher
