During this 12-hour period, I will speak, aloud, in a steam of conscious manner. I have engaged in this form of “liminal” speech as a method of employing both voice and action in performance. Based on a litany model, I attempt to create moments of connectiveness with my conscious and unconscious self.

In this installation, I have framed this process around theories of Arnold VanGennep and Victor Turner. The question that I am asking, “Can the idea of a liminal transformative state still have the appearance of a permanent one in 2010? (Turner, 1960)
